Donor Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable investment account that allows individuals to contribute money, stocks, or other assets to support charities.
How it works
A donor contributes money to a sponsoring organization, such as a nonprofit or financial institution, and receives an immediate tax deduction. The sponsoring organization manages the funds, which grow tax-free. The donor retains advisory privileges over the fund’s investments and can recommend donations to charities.
Benefits
DAFs are a popular way to donate to charity because they offer tax benefits and flexibility, including:
- Donors can receive an immediate tax deduction for their contributions.
- Donors can recommend donations to any eligible IRS-qualified public charity. They can also choose to make recurring donations.
- Funds in a DAF grow tax-free.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Check if your employer offers a matching gift program. Many companies will match employee donations, effectively doubling your contribution and its impact on our work.
How to Have Your Donation Matched by Your Company
- Check Eligibility: Confirm if your company offers a donation matching program. You can usually find this information on your company’s intranet or by asking HR.
- Make Your Donation: Donate to Oasis Free Clinics through our website
- Request Matching: After donating, visit your company’s matching program portal (or reach out to HR) to submit your donation for matching.
- Submit Documentation: Provide any necessary details (e.g., donation receipt) as required by your company’s matching process.
- Company Matches: Once your request is processed, your company will match your donation, doubling your impact!
