Max first came to Oasis in January 2016. In his late 20s, Max hoped we could help him with his physical ailments. What he found at Oasis was much more than that.
“You guys have made a tremendous difference in my life between curing me of Hepatitis C, fixing all my teeth, and helping me with a counselor and my mental health issues. Let me know what I can do to help!” Max shared recently.
Max’s story is a testament to the power of having access to integrated care. After battling Hepatitis C, a condition that had long overshadowed his health, he received groundbreaking treatment that eradicated the virus. But his journey didn’t stop there.
Addressing his dental needs and providing access to mental health counseling were crucial next steps, helping him with not only his physical health but also his emotional well-being.
Max is more than an Oasis patient, though. Max is a single father, and the pride he takes in his two kids is evident by the big smile on his face. Since we first met, Max has trained to be a tradesman, working his way through the journeyman process to get his license. During a visit this summer, he said that he has reached the “master” level and had recently started his own business. Max is now training others, giving them the opportunity to build skills, increase confidence, and make a good wage.
